Wiz Khalifa (Cameron Jibril Thomaz) Biography

Cameron Jibril Thomaz known as Wiz Khalifa born September 8, 1987 in Mino North Dakotat, he  is an American rapper, singer, songwriter and actor.

His parents were in the US military service, divorced when he was about three years old. He lived in Germany, United Kingdom and Japan and finally settled in Pittsburgh.

He attended the Taylor Allerdice High School in Pittsburgh and began composing his own lyrics and started singing them. This got the attention of the local mass and earned him a decent popularity in Pittsburgh.

His stage name was gotten from Khalifa, an Arabic word meaning “successor“, and wisdom Khalifa also said  that the name also came from being called “young Wiz ‘because he was good at everything he did. Khalifa got a tattoo of his stage name on his 17th birthday.

By the age of 15 he was regularly recording his music in a studio called I.D. Labs. 

He released his first  album, show and prove in 2006 and released his second album deal or no deal in November 2009. He also released mixtape kush and orange juice as a free download in April 2010; then he was signed with atlantic record. khalifa released his first single, ‘Black and Yellow’ for Rostrum/ Atlantic in 2010. which rated number 1 spot on the Billboard’s Hot 100 list.

He released ‘Only Nigga in First Class’  in April 2012, which was abbreviated to O.N.I.F.C in mainstream market. This album became a hit and reached the number 2 spot on the Billboards list. Mannie Fresh produced Blacc Hollywood was his fifth album and it featured songs with Miley Cyrus and Juicy J.

He released the single, ‘See You Again’ as a tribute to Paul Walker in the Furious 7. The song turned out to  hit a height in the Billboard’s Hot 100 list.

Khalifa  released the album ‘Khalifa’, in 2016.

Khalifa  received the Billboard Music Award for the Top New Artist in 2012 and  received the same for Top Hot 100 song and Top Rap song for See You Again in 2016.

Won the Teen Choice Award for See You Again for being the Choice R&B Hip Hop song and Choice song from a Movie or TV Show in 2015.

Khalifa was nominated for  awards like People’s Choice Award, MTV Video Music Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, Grammy Awards and American Music Awards.
